Topic: Shattered Horizon

Ok, so I recently overclocked my new Core i7 PC build and I wanted a game with high-end graphics to play on it (thats not crysis).  I found this game, and so I asked my friend to get it for my birthday yesterday.  It's a multiplayer only shooter set entirely in space.  The game's quite awesome, but the whole zero-g fps concept needs some getting used to.  The lighting and physics are extremely realistic and cool (for example, everything in the game has gravity, however slight, and so if you drift on the maps that are just one big chunk of rock, you'll actually begin to orbit it faintly).  Since the game has no demo, the developers give three 3-day long guest passes to everyone who purchased it.  I have two left, so if any of you have a computer that fit its ridiculously high system requirements, I'd be willing to send you one as long as another one of my friends doesn't want to play.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a tax, at least I've never seen one added when the bill comes back.  I'm pretty sure valve only adds state taxes to people who live in Washington, as that's where they're based.  I bought Shattered Horizon directly from Futuremark and they definitely didn't tax, but it really shouldn't matter where you buy it from since you live in California.

Just a little food for thought; While things like sales tax are not always required to be collected, based on the location of the seller and the buyer, as well as their status as a business or individual, in states like California, a usage tax is required to be collected, though no one pays it, no one collects it, and the government doesn't try to change that.

But you are legally required to pay that tax.

Since they just released a free map pack, the game is free to play over this weekend, and half off to buy.  I can't actually play this weekend, Jav, but if you wanted to play a bit more without buying it now would be the time.  Otherwise, you can just find me on MW2 big_smile.
